| The acting bug bit Melissa Burk at a very young age. Her first leading role was playing "The Pink Witch" in her 2nd grade Halloween play, a stellar performance indeed.
She began doing improv in 1998, while studying acting at BYU, becoming a member of the improv/sketch comedy troupe, The Garrens. Since then, she has also been a member of Underground Improv and most recently, ComedySportz.
She has experience in film and voiceover and is continually looking for opportunities to expand her talents. Mel B (a nickname given to her while studying abroad in London) earned a BFA in Acting from BYU and later a Masters in Speech Language Pathology from Temple University in Philadelphia.
So when she's not exploding her brain on stage, you'll find her working as a speech therapist in local elementary schools. Believe it or not, Melissa grew up in Puerto Rico and she continues to love to travel the world learning more about languages and cultures. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family, read, write songs, work out and enjoy the outdoors. |
